1-EDIT Update Notes
Version 1.01 -
------------
General:
-------
1-Edit-RA may now be run from any directory on any drive.
It will search the DOS environment for the RA variable
(i.e. SET RA=<path to system files>) and use that path to
find the CONFIG.RA, DORINFO1.DEF, and LOCAL.DEF files.
1-Edit-RA will now properly find the USERS.BBS in the
Message Base Path -- hence, 1-Edit-RA doesn't need to run
in the same directory as USERS.BBS anymore.
If you choose to run 1-Edit-RA from somewhere other than
the system path, please be sure to:
1. Place the LOCAL.DEF file in the system directory.
2. Place your key file (if registered) in the same
directory as 1-Edit-RA.
The 20 second pause at the beginning for unregistered
versions has been cut back to about 4 seconds. This was
done to ease the burden on those who are forced to pay for
every second of phone time (like many European sysops).
The program now rings the bell a few times before pausing
here (to maintain the annoyance -- er, encouragement
factor :-).
Main Menu:
---------
The DOS shell, when executed from remote, only accepted 12
characters of input even though the field looked to be 60
characters long. This severly limited the command line
parameters that you could feed to the child program. This
has been fixed. You may now use the full 60 character
field.
User Editor:
-----------
Passwords are now hidden behind a series of asterisks. To
toggle this feature off, select <O>ther then choice <8>
from the menu window at the bottom. Repeat the process to
toggle the "hiding" back on again.
Not all menu items functioned properly from the <O>ther
menu. They all do now.
A few minor cosmetic cleanups have been done, mostly
having to do with cursor placement.
In version 1.00 of 1-EDIT, whenever you entered the User
Editor from the Main Menu, a backup of your USERS.BBS was
made. This is fine and safe, but pretty slow. With
v1.01, 1-EDIT defaults to NOT make a backup of the file.
However, using the new -B command line parameter will
cause 1-EDIT to continue to make the backups.

Minor changes in path finding made.
